Interim CFO and CIO

Interim or retainer from €4,500 per month · 3 to 18 months

The situation
The position is open, or the head of finance has not had time to actually steer for months. Filling the role takes time, and in the meantime the close still has to happen.
What I deliver
I take on the role with full accountability and work in parallel to make sure my successor inherits a well-ordered function. I have done both roles before: CFO in policy consulting, CIO in aviation.
How you measure success
Readiness for handover. Specifically: documented processes, an established closing calendar, a plan the organization updates on its own.

Two formats

As an interim mandate, I take on the role entirely: line responsibility, leading the team, commitments to management, shareholders, and banks. That is how I worked as CFO at Adelphi Consult and as CIO at an aviation group.

As a retainer, I am the experienced finance or IT leader you don’t need full-time: typically two to four days per month, from €4,500 per month. The minimum term is three months, and it usually develops into a collaboration of six to twelve months. This also works alongside an ongoing project, if you want to keep a dedicated senior contact at leadership level between two phases.

What I do in such a mandate

  • First the overview, then the priorities, then solving the most urgent problems. Not the other way around.
  • Getting the monthly close running before I polish the reports.
  • Bringing the team along instead of imposing change.
  • Working toward the handover from day one. In the end, the function should run without me.

Honest about availability

I only take on a few mandates at a time, so that each gets the attention it needs, and I tell you in the first conversation how much time I actually have. There is no placement agency between you and me.
